The product presents a high risk of fire, explosion and electric shock as the transformer includes poor quality connections with wires soldered directly to the PCB and insufficient creepage and clearance distances.
The plug did not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 because the distance between the pins and the edge of the plug was too small, which can allow users to access live parts when plugging in, or unplugging, the plug from the socket.
The blade guard also did not fully cover the blade, presenting a risk of injuries. Improvements are required to marking, labelling and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
