Details
Stainless steel 350g food grinder.
The product presents a serious risk of fire and electric shock due to inadequate earthing. The earth connection broke after 15 seconds as it was not adequately fastened and needed to be tightened. Upon testing, it was evident that the crimp had not grabbed onto the wire completely and appeared to be an incomplete crimp termination. This could present a hazard of fire as it is a resistive joint which can cause high temperatures.
The plug face was found to fit a BS 1363 plug gauge however the plug was un-approved and therefore considered counterfeit. The fuse also had friction fit end caps and not did contain a ballast, also considered counterfeit which further present a fire/electric shock hazard.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
