The product has not been subject to an appropriate third-party assessment to demonstrate that it is safe to use in potentially explosive or flammable atmospheres. The product does not bear the correct markings. In the absence of evidence of appropriate conformity assessment, there is an unacceptable risk that the product may act as an ignition source during intended use, which could lead to fire and explosion. The product does not therefore meet the requirements of The Equipment and Protective Systems Intended for Use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2016 (ATEX).
