Details
Beige round saw blade machine with metal guard and ‘Vevor’ branding.
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the internal build quality was poor, with a poor earth connection that did not have any shakeproof washers and was connected onto the painted enclosure, increasing the resistance. The wiring used was not of the correct colour designation for mains wiring and there was some slight damage to the mains wiring which led to the power switch, which suggests poor manufacturing processes and could lead to an electric shock hazard.
It was also possible to bend the metal guards that protect the saw blade by hand, therefore increasing the risk that the end user could be injured by the blade.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
