A statement from Lesley Rudd, chief executive of Electrical Safety First, following the publication of the Phase 2 report of the Grenfell Tower fire:
“We welcome the publication of the Phase 2 report, which is an important step in addressing the safety concerns raised by the Grenfell tragedy. Our deepest sympathies remain with the families and loved ones of the 72 people who lost their lives, as well as all those who continue to be affected.
“The report reinforces the urgent need for action to protect residents and prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again. We remain focused on reducing the risk of electrical fires, which continue to pose a significant danger in homes across the UK. We remain committed to working with the Government and other organisations to improve safety standards and support efforts to ensure everyone can feel safe in their homes."
